I've done it again: created a fan trailer for posting on a holiday. This time, I've turned my sights on the next installation of The Hobbit. I'm still not completely sold on this book being made into a trilogy when I never got to see the scouring of the Shire in the Lord of the Rings movies, but I did enjoy last year's Unexpected Journey (and I'm addicted to the "Lonely Mountain" song). Plus, Martin Freeman is a wonderful Bilbo Baggins, and I'm definitely looking forward to finally seeing the dragon.
In this second film, our brave friends Bilbo, Gandalf, and the dwarves journey on through Mirkwood Forest to reach the ultimate goal: the lair of Smaug the dragon. I realize by utilizing "In the Hall of the Mountain King" I'm copying one of the most overplayed film score pieces in cinema. But our brave heroes are journeying into a mountain. It's dramatic, with ominous overtones, and let's face it: it's beyond a cliche at this point in its history.
Enjoy!
