The nominees for for the Tony Awards may be out today, but I'm writing to announce the nominees for a different set of awards. I've actually been sitting on this news for a bit, since the title shortlist hadn't been announced yet. Now, though, I'm pleased to say I am once again serving as a judge in the speculative fiction category for the INSPYs, self-described as "the bloggers' award for excellence in faith-driven literature."
I previously judged speculative titles in 2011 and 2014. Both times I discovered books that I really enjoyed, and yet would probably never have dived into otherwise. It's also great to be able to spread the news of excellent books beyond my own reviews, in a forum that offers the author some compensation for their talents.
Without further ado, here are this year's nominees for the best in faith-based speculative fiction:
You can see the entire list of nominees across all categories over at the INSPY website. I'm sworn to secrecy until the winners are announced on June 28, but look for reviews of each speculative title afterward.
