I learned how to use Flash back in college, working as a web student worker over at the Brody School of Medicine, but I haven't actually created a Flash project in years. To brush up on my skills and provide a showcase of them, I created the following book trailer for Patricia C. Wrede's delightful rural fantasy series, Frontier Magic. The first book, Thirteenth Child, was published by Scholastic Books in 2009, while the next in the series, Across the Great Barrier, is set to be released this August.

Ms. Wrede was kind enough to post this video on her blog, where she provides tips for upcoming writers on everything from plot development to tax preparation. Today she also posted information about the third book in the series, The Far West, the first draft of which is almost complete. Check it out.

So, how did I create this video? Trial and error (sometimes a lot of error), patience, and help from different online support sites. Check back next week for more on how I put this project together, and tips for your own image and/or Flash production.
