February 10 Prompt: Any, any, accidental child acquisition by way of a child literally falling from the sky, written for "The Ugly Duckling."

Sometimes it will chance that a bird is not quite ready to fly even when pushed out of the nest.

The former duckling, now a great Swan, took a great interest in any foundling who fell gasping and hurt near where he lived.

His was a patchwork flock of oddities but what mattered most was that they never bore any scorn alone.
