Henry’s last medal was a solid bronze when he was about Catherine’s age. It was framed next to his degree back at the office, and he usually laughed at how his business colleagues eyed it with the same concern that some on the circuit threw him for being “chained” to a desk (even virtually) whenever he attended with Eleanor.
It was funny, in an entirely different way, when Catherine treated his modest achievements as golden.
