inspiration + perspiration = invention :: T. Edison ::
The year is drawing to a close, and so is my novel Gentlemen of Gloucestershire: only four more chapters are scheduled for release. I'd like to not only celebrate this accomplishment personally, but include all my loyal readers in something I'm calling "Meme Monday."
Readers of my blog may have noticed I didn't post any bonus material last week; work, family, and the holidays bit into writing time, and I did not get something prepped for that slot. Instead of my usual analysis, therefore, I'm devoting today to a little silliness, inspired by the meme I shared as part of my earlier analysis on allusions in Northanger Abbey: I'd like to invite my readers to help me retell my fan novel in stills/GIFs/video, or whatever meme (of a PG variety) you like in the comments. If you're not sure of what I'm talking about, the SparksNotes Twitter profile has some great examples, including many inspired by Jane Austen.
Replies here on my blog have been hit and miss during this journey, so this invitation is an experiment. Please cite what chapter/moment you're "memeing" as part of your response, and don't worry if you repeat a bit: part of the fun will be in seeing what everyone comes up with. If you have trouble embedding or posting anything, let me know in the comments and I'll try to get it working.

I also started the conversation on Twitter, for those who find that medium easier to chat in.
After today there are only 4 more chapters of my novel to release. I'm inviting any of my blog readers/lurkers to participate in a recap I'm calling #MemeMonday. https://t.co/oY4splGpUE
